Fire fighters seem to have controlled the so-called "Sunset Fire" -- closest of all the current fires to our building.

On Wednesday evening, a mandatory evacuation order was issued around for areas north of Hollywood Boulevard and south of Mulholland Drive, and east of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and west of the 101 freeway.

Our building was excluded, as we are east of the 101, and south of Hollywood. 

At time of writing, fires are not visible in the Hollywood Hills. Helicopter-dropped water defeated the flames, which were reported to have subsided by approximately 10:30 PM.

Even as the Sunset Fire seems to have ceased, numerous fires continue to rage in LA Country. The Los Angeles Times reports that fire weather will persist for several more days.

Air quality in Hollywood -- and throughout the city -- remains very poor. At time of writing, smoke is visible from our building's pool deck.
